The hair is to signify the gender, the girl has neat hair and the boy has a messy look.
The head is because they are smiling.
The two hands, because they always hold on to something, girls hold on to their mother, father, doll, or a trolley. Boys usually hold on to curtains, ropes, anything that is annoying.
The body has a circular shape is because, the circle has no starting or ending point, and it is an example of continuation, by continuation in this girl, is that she will never grow up, and she will continue to be a child at that age.
The legs, two legs for the girl, because I think that a girl’s walk says a lot about her feminine side, by being calm and girly, but the boys have one leg because they are very noisy and they always jump everywhere and on everything.

The colors:
The hair: both yellow, it is the color of happiness, joy, energy, and cheerfulness.
The body: pink for girl, it is the color of femininity, calm, youth, girly, and it is said that if someone attempts to become angry in the presence of pink, they will find that they can not, purely because it slows your heart down and relaxes muscles. Green for the boy, green is a color that’s filled with energy, strength, youth, and it is masculine.
Shoes: stability.

The sad girl is blue because it is a cold and depressing color.

The girl and the boy:

The body of my sad character is also a triangle, because when I am sad I tend to avoid people and also avoid talking to anyone, so I felt like the triangle shape makes it easier and possible for me to find a corner and sit in it alone.
The body of my happy character is a circle, because when I am happy I talk and move a lot, so having a circle shape helps, the circle can never stay in one place, it keeps bumping from wall to wall and side to side.

On the other side:
- When a person is sad, his eyes get closer to each other, so by following the outline of a sad face, it kind of in a way looks like a triangle.

Why did I choose these geometric shapes to represent my happy child and sad one?
When a person smiles, what happens to his face features, not in details, but looking at the face in its simplest form:
- The eyes get stretched away from each other and your smile almost looks like a half circle. At that point if we follow the outline of the face, the face almost looks like a circle.

I wanted the girls to be doing the things that i like doing the most...

Moreover, each living thing has an aura, and this aura is made-up of eight layers, so when a person hugs another, they pass through all the layers of the aura and connect with the soul; this girl is created in a circular shape, inorder to provoke the soul of making a physical contact with her, that is hugging, to reach into her soul. The soul that is full of life and joy.
The girl has no face, because the last detail was to draw the face, so when it came to that, i wanted to leave it to the imagination, because everytime i looked at her I gave her different features, so I ended up wanting people to have something to share with the girl.

Last year, during my painting course, we were asked to participate in the Artists Residency programme, where we were given a booth, and we were free to use as much paint and canvas as we want, they wanted us to paint whatever we felt like painting. The atmosphere there was filled with music, people singing, dancing, walking, the weather was a brisk, and the booths were directly next to the creek. Being there was like putting a child in a toy store and telling him to open and play with whatever he chooses. Looking at the canvas made me only see a little girl popping out of there, this is where i painted the circled girl. Staring at her made me feel happy, it was like happiness flowing all around her and as if she is spreading positive energy. This is where I decided to give her a soul and bring her to life, by making a 3d model out of her.
